Mary Elizabeth and allonewordA few simple truths about me. It took me forever to learn how to ride a bike. I had training wheels on my blue banana seat bike way longer then all of my friends. It also took me forever to get through college. After an extensive tour of Californian community colleges in 2003 I graduated from Mills College (BS in Art History with an emphasis in Asian Art). In 2008 started making cycling caps to impress this very sexy guy at a local bike shop. He was impressed yeah!-- with the caps -- still cool. Then realized that I I love making caps, and bike folks of all kinds. Within a year I had sold my car, bought two more sewing machines, and a new bike. Now, I ride around Alameda Calif on my Gary Fisher Simple City three speed. I sell caps online (here and on Etsy) and a few local shops (Alameda Bicycle), one in Brooklyn, and a shop in Albuquerque, NW. Right now there are caps I made in Finland, England, Norway, Australia, France, Italy, and all over the USA. In 2010 I started taking my caps to Bike shows around California and Philadelphia, PA. That was the best yet. The final piece of the puzzle! Seeing people in my caps! Talking with bike folks (looking at fancy bikes at shows). I plan on a country wide tour this year. First stop San Diego! see you there.
